Telecommunication company, MTN Nigeria on Tuesday announced shutting its offices down nationwide over the violence that trailed the SIM blocking at the weekend.
The company’s offices across the country were besieged on Monday by subscribers whose phone lines were blocked at the weekend.
At the Festac Town outlet of the company, angry subscribers pulled down the fence after allegedly waiting for hours without being attended to.
The situation in other parts of the country were not any better. In Osogbo, the Osun state capital residents were seen protesting at the Iwo Road office of the company.
But in a tweet on Tuesday, the company said it would be shutting its offices down.

“Yello customer, please be informed that our shops nationwide will be closed today, 30th July 2024,” the statement sighted on X read.
