Tobi Oyewo, son of the late legendary Nollywood actor, Kola Oyewo, has fired back at man who challenged the House of Representatives member. Akin Alabi, over his tribute to the deceased actor.
NPO Reported that Oyewo passed away on Friday at the age of 80.
His demise had thrown the Nollywood industry into another state of mourning while also attracting tribute from several public figures, including politicians.
Also joining other notable dignitaries in paying tribute to the legendary actor was Alabi who, in a post on his X handle on Saturday, expressed sadness over the news of his death.
The lawmaker described the late Oyewo as a true icon of Nigerian theatre as he recounted several classics movies he appeared on.
“Sad to hear of the passing of veteran actor, Chief Kola Oyewo.
“A true icon of Nigerian theatre and cinema, he graced our screens with unforgettable performances in Saworoide as Oba Lapite, The Gods Are Not to Blame, Sango, Koseegbe, and many other classics. He was 80 years old.” Alabi wrote.
Amid the cross section of comments on the lawmaker’s post, an X user identified as Smurfy slammed Alabi.
Snurfy asked the lawmaker if he ever rendered any assistance to the late actor when he was allegedly seeking financial help.
