The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has placed Nigerian singer, Darlington Okoye, on international watchlist after absconding from Nigeria over alleged rape and cypberbullying.
NPO Reported that NAPTIP had on Saturday declared Darlington wanted after failing to honour the agency’s invitation as regards his livestream video, he made a disturbing claim of have sexual affair with a 15-year-old girl.
Coupled with the placement of the singer on international watchlist, NAPTIP, according to a post shared on X on Tuesday, have also alerted Interpol on possible arrest of the Darlington.
The singer had yesterday fled Nigeria to evade being arrested.
Shortly after a post of him vowing never to come back to Nigeria, Darlington posted a video where he claimed he never committed any crime while also accusing NAPTIP of clout-chasing.
He however demanded for the removal of his wanted pictures as well as N2.5 million for his appearance.
“This video is for NAPTIP. All this wanted post wey una blast everywhere, take that shit down. I’m not coming.
“I have not committed any crime. All I did was speak. Irresponsible talk is not a crime. I’m not coming. Where is your evidence? Who is your complainant?
“Una wan use me collect social media clout. I was born here too and I know the pyschological mind game wey una dey play.
“N2.5 million is what I charge for appearance. Una go pay me N2.5 million plus round trip ticket for me and my P.A to come because I call that appearance.” The singer had said.
However, there is official statement yet from NAPTIP confirming the placement of Darlington on international watchlist.
