A Nasarawa State House of Assembly lawmaker representing Umaisha/Ugya Constituency, Hon. Ibrahim Abdullahi Sa’ad, has challenged officials of the Umaisha General Hospital over the disappearance of beds and fans he donated to the facility.
Ibrahim reportedly visited the hospital last week Saturday when he discovered that the beds and fans he donated to the hospital were missing.
The visibly enraged lawmaker, as captured in a video posted on social media, faced one of the members of the hospital’s staff, demanding the whereabout of the items.
While the number of missing beds as not disclosed, Ibrahim claimed to have donated about 60 ceiling fans and 40 standing fans to the hospital.
‘How can you tell me this is the mattress I brought? Can I show you the mattresses on my phone? I brought it for my people.
‘Where are the ceiling fans? I brought more than 60 ceiling fans. The standing fans, I brought about 40. Where are they?’ He asked.
The lawmaker recalled being told that the mattresses have been circulated across the hospital wards before being told again that they are still in the store.
‘You were telling me you have taken the mattresses across the wards. I said okay, let’s go to the wards. Now where are them.
‘I had a discussion with the doctor, he told me that the mattresses are still in the store.
‘I told him please take them back to that place. It is my money I used. Look at the condition of people here,’ He said.
Ibrahim in the clip gave the staff 10 minutes to provide the items as he decried the state of patients at the hospital.
