The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has denied requesting the custody of Samuel Ojeogwu, brother of Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, for drug test amid the ongoing marital crisis involving his sister and Delta lawmaker, Sen. Ned Nwoko.
NPO Reported that the NDLEA was alleged to have written to the prosecution counsel on Monday, demanding the release of Samuel for drug test.
Reacting to the allegation in a chat with NPO Reports correspondent on Tuesday, the agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, debunked the claims.
Babafemi held that the allegation was not true.
“That’s not true please. Thanks,” the NDLEA Spokesperson simply wrote.
Meanwhile, Samuel was yesterday released from custody after fulfilling his bail condition.
He was received by his mother was accompanied by Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson, and human rights activist Omoyele Sowore, amongst others.
Recall that the music artist, popularly known as Sammy, was last week arraigned to court following his arrest over alleged criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying against Nwoko.
The lawmaker had in the past weeks come under public spotlight over his marital crisis with Regina who moved out his house after accusing him of domestic violence.
Nwoko had however repeatedly denied the allegations while disclosing the actress’ drug and alcohol addiction.
The Nigerian politician had alleged that efforts to rehabilitate Regina was repeatedly foiled by Sammy and her friends as they reportedly supply the actress with more drugs and often assault Nwoko’s domestic staff.
The fiasco had led to the arrest of Sammy in Lagos having left Nwoko’s house alongside Regina.
The musician was transferred back to Abuja, where he was arraigned and subsequently detained pending the fulfilment of his bail condition.
