A man identified as Shuaibu Yussuf has caused panic in Abuja the Federal Capital Territory on Monday after he climbed mast of the Abuja radio station, Aso Radion located in the Katampe Hill area of the city.
The Katampe Hill is located along the . The point where the mast is located is believed to be the geographic centre of Nigeria.
Yussuf, said to be from Borno state was seen to have climbed to the highest part of the mast before he was discovered.
He said was said to have a suicide note where he asked the federal government to end fuel subsidy removal and eradicate insecurity.
Also he demanded for a state of emergency on insecurity asking that immediate action is demanded in Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Niger, and Borno to combat terrorism and restore peace.
Yusuf also asked for the opening of borders for food to come into the country.
He also asked the government to put an end to end of school for many childrenaddig that he was ready to sacrifice his life to call the attention of Nigerians and the government to the issues.
The scene had attracted the attention of policemen and Civil Defence while emergency and rescue officials were on standby.
For minutes those gathered appealed to the man to come down and reconsider living again.
One of those present who held a public address system called on Yussuf to forget suicide noting journalists were present in order to all Nigerians leaders in the country to get the message he wanted to pass to the political leaders.
She went on to promise Yussuf that President Bola Tinubu would get his message and act on it.
