The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has shown off vegetables harvested from her garden at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Tinubu as captured in viral photos onlin was seen harvesting the vegetables from the garden.
Tinubu, had in 2024, demonstrated the need for homes to cultivate small gardens as part of strategies to grow more food.
She said that promoting home gardens comes with several benefits and it is a way of encouraging family farming.
Tinubu disclosed in 2024 that Every Home Garden competition by the Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI is not just a competition.
It aims to inculcate the habit of farming and food production into the society right from the family unit and promote eating healthy foods.
She recently said that the government is focused on restoring hope among Nigerians, adding that small businesses such as akara production do not require huge capital to start.
She made the statement while highlighting the empowerment and social intervention programmes carried out through her office, noting that the initiatives were designed to support citizens.
According to her, businesses like akara making, roasted corn, and kuli-kuli production require relatively small capital, making them accessible opportunities for individuals seeking to start a means of livelihood.
