A proposal by former Senator representing Kaduna central Shehu Sanni that member of the House of Representatives Who assaulted a car hailing driver should be forgiven has been rebuffed.
The former senator in an X post pleaded for forgiveness over the lawmaker’s misconduct.
“The Abia Rep asked for forgiveness for his conduct. He should be forgiven.
”That is the recommendation of all religions.” he wrote.
Reacting to this plea by the former senator, Nigerians have insisted that he needs to face the consequences of his actions.

@flourish007 demanded that he should be prosecuted and as such rogue politicians should be held accountable.
“He should be prosecuted. This is how we hold rogue politicians accountable when they feel untouchable.”

”His colleagues in the NASS has forgiven him, but we the concerned citizens say, should be taken to court and charged for assault, it serve as deterrent to others.”
@olumideosasona7 reiterated that religion shouldn’t be a tool to excuse lawlessness hence he should face the law.
“Absolutely, he’s forgiven already. But the law should be enforced to the fullest. Religion should never be an excuse for lawlessness, especially in a country like Nigeria.”
