Salihu Yakubu-Danladi, winner of the Kwara All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Primaries, has said there is no victor and no vanquished after the election.
Yakubu-Danladi stated this while addressing supporters shortly after being declared winner of the governorship primary in Ilorin on Friday.
He described his emergence as a collective success for all aspirants, stressing unity within the All Progressives Congress in the state.
“We need to thank God Almighty for where we are. In APC we are one. There is no winner or loser; we are all winners,” he said.
Yakubu-Danladi reiterated the message shortly after his declaration as winner of the exercise, calling for reconciliation among party members.
He expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his support during the primary process and party mobilisation efforts.
He noted that this would be the first time since 1999 that the Borgu Kingdom has produced a governorship candidate from a ruling party.
Yakubu-Danladi commended Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, describing him as a leader and transformer who has delivered development across multiple sectors in Kwara.
“He is a man of his words, a leader and a transformer who has done very well across different sectors,” the governorship candidate said.
He pledged to sustain and build on the achievements of the AbdulRazaq administration for continued development and stability in the state.
“We are part and parcel of this administration. As Speaker for almost seven years, I am part of all policies of Governor AbdulRazaq.
“Legacy will continue and our state will be better for it,” Yakubu-Danladi.
