The Nigerian Railway Corporation has opened the online ticket portal for Abuja-Kaduna rail services.
In a statement released by the Managing Director of the NRC, Fidel Okhiria , he stated, that “the Federal government through the Ministry of Transportation will resume the Abuja -Kaduna Passenger train service on Monday 5, December 2022.”
The statement said the service will commence with two return services between Abuja and Kaduna. It also stated, that the first train service is slated to depart Rigasa Train in Kaduna by 8:00 am to Abuja while in Abuja, the Idu train station will leave for Kaduna by 9:30 am.
Recall that NPO Reports reported that terrorists attacked the Abuja-Kaduna train on March 28, 2022, kidnapping 168 passengers and killing eight others, hence the suspension of the train services.
However, victims have been released in batches before the final release of the last23 victims in October.
