Members of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Ogun State Chapter, have on Tuesday destroyed the State Government’s House main gate as they invaded the premises in protest over the kidnapped Oyo state teachers and students.
In a continuation of the nationwide protest which kicked off on Monday, the NUT members again stormed the Ogun Government House in Abeokuta today.
They were however denied entry into the premises as security operatives shut the gain against them.
In reaction, the protesters began to push the gate as the security operatives made futile attempt to restrain them.
The scene captured in a video shared on X showed the protesters joining hands to push the gate.
The gate would eventually be thrown open with the protesters rendering solidarity chants as they invaded the premises.
NPO Reported a nationwide protest had commenced yesterday with aggrieved residents in Oyo, Ogun, Abuja, and other parts of the country taking to the street in demand for the release of the teachers and students abducted from Ahoro-Esinele Community High School, Yawota Baptist Nursery and Primary School, and LA Primary school by suspected terrorists.
The terrorists stormed the schools located in Oriire Local Government Area of the state on the 15th of May, 2026, killing a teacher and a motorcyclisy before abducted over 40 students and their teachers.
