The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has chided that state governor, Ademola Adeleke, over his allegation against the party.
Adeleke had reportedly accused the APC and its candidate, Bola Oyebamiji of alleged plot to rig the forthcoming Osun governorship election through monetary inducement and compromise of voters’ register.
Reacting in a statement issued on Friday by its spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, the Osun APC cautioned Adeleke against feeding the innocent members of the public with what it labelled falsehoods.
Olabisi held that the governor’s allegation was borne out of fear of imminent defeat to Oyebamiji.
“The allegation of the incumbent governor that we are making efforts to rig the forthcoming 15th August, 2026 governorship election through monetary inducement for voters’ cards and compromising of voters’ register was borne out of fear of his imminent loss of the election.
“The good people of the state should discountenance the fabricated allegations of Governor Adeleke that we are planning to rig the election as such is only existing in his imagination as our governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji AMBO, does not need to rig the election for him to be victorious in the election.” The Osun APC spokesperson said.
Olabisi maintained that Oyebamiji had over the past months worked hard to sell his aspiration all over the state unlike Adeleke who the Osun APC’s Director of Media and Information claimed to be approaching the election with levity.
“The gain of a hard work is victory and success. It is on record that while the complainant governor who is the governorship candidate of the deregistered Accord Party was dancing, wining and dining globally, our own workaholic, focused and ever-resourceful governorship candidate has been toiling day and night to sell his aspiration round the state.
“Must Governor Adeleke blame our party and our candidate for his ill-preparedness for the governorship election which the Ede-born deregistered Accord Party candidate has been approaching with levity, forgetting that an election is a process?” He said.
The Osun APC charged Adeleke to face the reality of his imminent defeat, stressing that Osun residents are tired of his governance.
“Governor Adeleke should sit up and face the reality of his political quagmire and stop laying a foundation for his imminent loss in the governorship election.
“The people of the state are tired of his type of governance that is not beneficial to the highest percentage of the people of the state.
“The succour of the people is that the state governorship office is tenured where they would have another golden opportunity to elect a governor that would not be a source of shame to them through his actions and inactions.
“There’s no way that the fabrication of false allegations against our party, our governorship candidate and our leaders will confer any added advantage on the governor during the election.
“The fact is that the good people of the state are tired and fed up with the trial-and-error approach to governance by the puppet governor who are longing for a competent governor during the forthcoming governorship election in the state.” Olabisi added.
