President Bola Tinubu has hailed the Governor of theĀ Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, over the achievements recorded the monetary policy reforms initiated by the apex bank.
Tinubu made the commendation during his address at a stakeholders meeting on Monday.
The President held that the monetary policy has over time yielding positive results.
Tinubu attributed the accomplishment to his administration’s economic reforms which, according to him, have stabilised the economy, restored confidence and laid the foundation for longterm growth.
“Since the inception of this administration, we have undertaken bold and necessary reforms to stabilise the economy, restore confidence and lay the foundation for longterm growth.
“These reforms are instrument for delivering prosperity, dignity, and opportunity to all Nigerians.
“I must say again at this junction, the monetary policy we embarked on since the reform has yielded positive results and is been recognised around the world. Thank you Mr. Governor of CBN.” He said.
Tinubu further highlighted other achievements that his administration has recorded since inception.
He noted the increase on Federal allocation to state and local governments, macroeconomic stability, and expansion of social investment and human capital projects.
“We have recorded notable achievements reflect our commitment to cooperative federalism and inclusive development.
“States and local governments now receive increased and more predictable Federal allocations, improving their capacity to pay salaries, invest in infrastructure and deliver social services.
“Secondly, we have strengthen the macroeconomic stability through improved revenue performance, stronger public financial management and enhanced physical coordination.
“Third, we have prioritised infrastructural development across the transportation and digital connectivity, housing.
“Fourth, we have expanded social investment and human capital programmes targeting vulnerable households, youths, women, and small businesses.” The President said.
