The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola on Wednesday accused Governor Ademola Adeleke and his family of having interests in Segilola Mining firm, the company that now in charge of Osun mining sites.
Oyetola, the immediate former Governor of Osun, said there is something the government is hiding from the people of the state in the entire shareholding arrangements with the mining company.
His spokesperson, Ismail Omidipan, said the choice of the Chief of Staff to the governor, Hon. Kazeem Akinleye, as the state’s representative on the board of Segilola showed that Adeleke has something to hide.
He said, “If the government is sincere, how come it is finding it difficult to disclose to Osun citizens that the Adelekes have some shareholdings in Segilola Mining firm?
“Also, why name the Chief of Staff to the governor, Hon. Kazeem Akinleye, who is one of those overseeing the Adelekes’ investments in Osun government and beyond as the state’s representative on the board of Segilola and not Prof. Lukman Jumoda, the Special Adviser on Mining and Mineral Matters, if it had nothing to hide?.”
