Florence Ajimobi, widow of late former Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi, has declared the forthcoming 2027 Gubernatorial election as war against the current state governor, Seyi Makinde, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Ajimobi made this known while addressing newsmen at an event on Sunday.
As captured in a video shared on X, the former Oyo first lady expressed confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC) ability to oust the PDP out of power come 2027.
“We are going to war in 2027. It’s going to be war, head-on war. PDP must go.
“Whatever they want to do, wherever they want to go, whatever tricks they want try, all powers belong to God. But we are going to beg God. We are going to fight them.” She said.
Ajimobi further bragged that the APC’s Federal might equally matched the PDP’s might in the state in terms of support and resources.
“Whatever they have in the state, we have at the Federal level. We have money. They have money in the state; we have money at the Federal level.
“We have all the supports we need. We are not going to be intimidated. Let them get ready for us. We are ready for them.” Ajimobi added.
Recall that Makinde succeeded Abiola Ajimobi after the defeating the APC’s candidate for the 2019 election, Adebayo Adelabu.
The governor would again return to power in 2023 as he defeated APC’S 2023 governorship candiate, Teslim Folarin, to secure a second term in office.
