A member of the House of Representatives, Yusuf Gagdi, has received backlash over failure to provide basic amenities in his constituency, Kanke, Plateau State.
This is following a move by Instagram celebrity, Asherkine, who took it upon himself to construct a borehole in the area.
Asherkine who is known for putting a smile on people’s faces through his kindness and actions extended his act of generosity to the people of Plateau State.
A resident told him that they lacked a borehole and that since he grew up they have had only three wells in the whole community.
Additionally, he also distributed some food items, provisions, stationeries and other items to residents of the community.
NPO reports that recently, the politician had gifted his daughter an SUV following her graduation from secondary school
Despite the poor economic state of the country, many politicians like him have plunged public funds into the wrong places.
This action has however moved many Nigerians, with many praising Asherkine and on the other hand criticizing Gagdi.
@MrsZanga said,
“And This is not even a politician running for office oo. God continue to guide and protect you from the eyes of the enemies, Asher Kine
Whatever you want you shall find”
Another X user said,
“You cannot change Nigeria but these acts of kindness from more people like you will make the society a better place for the less privileged to live in. It’s hopeless to rely on government and politicians to make positive changes in Africa. God bless you Asherkine”

“Nigerian politicians are the wickedest people on the face of the earth. Weaponizing poverty so that they can use peanuts to campaign during elections. Wicked people.”
@It_Chioma said,
“Why is so hard for these people to do anything meaningful for their communities? They can go there to campaign but can not develop or provide the barest minimum for their people. Many Nigerian politicians don’t care, politics is just the safest way to steal money and set up their families.”
@petithazard2 said,
“Honestly this shows this people love to see their people poor so they can be at their mercy.”

“I remember how arrogant he responded. Nigerian politicians only remember their people during election campaigns after they win,it’s back to default settings.”
