He bought G-Wagon for N27 million, paid N13 million and refused to pay the rest, claiming the vehicle was bad
The Lagos Star Police Command has arrested controversial singer and artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, following an unpaid car debt.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development on Tuesday.
NPO Reports learnt that the 30-year-old purchased a G-Wagon worth N27 million from a car dealer, in which he made a made a down payment of N13 million, and took the vehicle away with the promise to pay the balance.
In a trending video seen by NPO Reports, the singer jumped a gate and attempted to escape but was eventually caught by the police.
Meanwhile, Hundeyin revealed that the command received a petition against the musician for failure to pay the balance money of the vehicle he purchased from a car dealer.
“Yes, Portable has been arrested. He bought G-Wagon for N27 million, paid N13 million and refused to pay the rest, claiming the vehicle was bad. We arrested him today,” Hundeyin said.
