Katsina State Police Command has arrested 88 suspected criminals allegedly linked to 59 major crimes in the state in February.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Sadiq-Aliyu stated in Katsina on Wednesday that the suspects were arrested over alleged involvement in armed robbery, kidnapping, cattle rustling, and culpable homicide, among others.
He said that the police had filed 49 cases before the courts against some of those arrested.
The PPRO explained that 13 suspects were arrested for armed robbery, 12 for murder, 19 for rape, and three for kidnapping while the rest were apprehended over other criminal activities.
He noted that the three suspected kidnappers were arrested in a joint operation by the Katsina and Federal Capital Territory commands.

He gave their names as Hassan Ibrahim, 25, Ibrahim Ishaq, 33, and Shafi’u Zubairu, 30, all of Kakabawa village, Kurfi Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, during interrogation, the suspects confessed to have been terrorising communities in Kurfi and Safana LGAs.
He added that the suspects mentioned three other notorious bandits they have been operating with, that are now at large.
Sadiq-Aliyu added that one Bilyaminu Muhammad, 32, of Zago village of Arewa LGA of Kebbi, was arrested over illegal possession of seven live cartridges
According to him, a total of 72 kidapped victims were rescued across the state in February and 500 rustled livestock recovered.
