The Police have invited for questioning, parents of the little girl seen in a viral video produced by skit maker, Abdullahi Maruf (popularly called Trinity Guy) for allegedly giving their consent for the appearance of the girl in the video.
The police in Oyo state had said that Trinity Guy would be charged to court for what is considered the use of. a minor in the production of a video which featured sexual abuse content.
The Oyo state command of the Nigerian Police explained that the parent of the girl, according to the skit maker, gave their consent, for the girl to appear in the skit.
In the controversial video, a girl was seen being asked by the skit maker whether she saw his manhood or not. The girl had, under duress, confessed to seeing his manhood after which she was also asked to describe how it looked like.
The police command in Oyo said Isiaka Ahmed ‘m’ 40yrs’ and his Wife Rofiat ’29yrs’, both biological parents of the minor are presently being quizzed by the Gender/Juvenile Related Offences Desk of the SCID alongside Trinity.
“Preliminary Investigations revealed that the obscene video which was a clear violation of Sec. 32,35 and 36 of the Child Rights Act of 2023 depicts explicit sexual exploitation of the minor who was compelled to give disturbing descriptive details of a Male genital.
“In addition the Skit Maker during the course of the interview provided shocking revelations about the involvement of the minor’s parents before, during and after the production.
“He particularly emphasized that the consent of both Parents was sought before uploading the skit on the internet.”
The police said that the skit maker had honoured invitation extended to him by coming to the command with his lawyer.
NPO Reports that he is currently being detained at the state headquarters of the police in Ibadan.
