The headquarters of the Nigerian Police Force has said it has demanded for details of the allegations against a member of the House of Representatives Engr. Simon Atigwe who was accused of sending thugs to attacks a family in Enugu state over a land tussle.
A video of the family being allegedly beaten after being tied and dragged to a place was seen by our correspondent. The video was shared by an X user, @Nwaadaz who said after the family members were beaten and humiliated, the lawmaker still asked policemen to lock them up.
She also shared a video where a Lexus jeep belonging to a member of the family who had come visiting the village was badly vandalised.
Reacting to this, the spokesperson of the police force, Prince Olumuyiwa, stated;
“I have just called enugu command on this. We will need to find out and take necessary action. We will definitely act on the matter. Thanks”
The post also stated that police reports were made, they arrested one of them but Simon came by himself to bail the boy in police and since then nothing has been heard
“After flogging and humiliating them, they still went ahead to destroy her car and stole their phone and money

“They seek justice.”
Furthermore, the rest of her family members have run away because Simon Atigwe threatening to kill them all.”
