The Nigerian Police Force has recovered the Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle belonging to late Bishop Chinedu James and arrested two suspects linked to his murder.
Chinedu was reportedly abducted and murdered yesterday in Delta state with his vehicle stolen by the assailants.
Hours after the incident, operatives of the Anambra State Police Command embarked on a manhunt for the suspects following credible intelligence that the stolen vehicle was being moved to Onitsha for sale.
The police operatives, acting on the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, tracked and intercepted the suspects during a coordinated intelligence-led operation.
Preliminary investigations revealed that one of the suspects allegedly contacted his cousin in Onitsha to help secure a buyer for the vehicle after the bishop was abducted and murdered.
The suspects were arrested at the point of sale, while the vehicle was recovered as vital evidence.
Meanwhile, the Police said that investigations have intensified to dismantle the entire syndicate behind the kidnapping, murder, and attempted sale of the stolen vehicle.
