A policeman seen in a viral video shooting an AK-47 gun has been brought in for disciplinary action by the Lagos Command of the Nigerian Police Force.
NPO Reported that the officer had, in the euphoria of celebration of the reopening of the popular Ladipo Market, shot several times into the air narrowly missing some persons in the process.
Force spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, had hinted earlier on Tuesday that the Lagos command of the force had been mandated to fish out the officer, whose conduct was believed to be outside the rules of his engagement.
On Wednesday afternoon, spokesman of the Lagos command, Benjamin Hundeyin, hinted that the officer, an Inspector in rank, had been brought in for necessary action.
He wrote on his X handle, “The police officer in this video, Inspector Istifanus Kwanchi, serving with the Mobile Police (MOPOL), has been brought in for appropriate disciplinary actions.
