The Governor of Rivers state, Siminalayi Fubara, has alleged being shot at by policemen in the state capital on Monday.
A video seen by the NPO Reports showed that the governor, with some of his aides and security aides, were walking to the House of Assembly complex which was set on fire late Sunday night.
The video also showed that the policemen used water canons to pour water in the direction of the governor as he moved undaunted towards the Assembly complex.
The water canon belongs to the police with the inscription Nigeria Police Force on it.
NPO Reported earlier that some thugs had invaded the Assembly complex on Sunday and set the complex on fire.
IT was learnt that the action was to prevent an impeachment move against Fubara.
There are insinuations that the entire tension is caused by the disagreement between Fubara and the former Governor, Nyesome Wike.
Wike, who is the current Minister of the FCT, is said to be at loggerheads with the governor he helped install in office.
Speaking, Fubara said the action of the arsonists and those of the policemen who shot at him was to “please somebody.”
“From what I have seen, the security agents even compromised. They were shooting at me but it doesnt matter. Somebody will die one day,” he said
