A 37-year-old pregnant woman, Agbede Omolade, has narrated how she was sent to Kirikiri correctional facility by her boyfriend who accused her of N13 million fraud.
Agbede recounted her ordeal following her release from the prison by a Lagos Igbo chief (Eze Ndigbo), Prosper Chukwuka.
NPO Reported that the Amuwo Odofin- based Igbo chief, popular known as Eze Igburugburu, had visited the female custodial facility on Tuesday where he initiated the release of four inmates with promise to give them jobs.
While profiling the released inmates at his palace, Agbede narrated how she ended up at the Kirikiri female custodial facility after being accused of N13 million fraud by her boyfriend whose identity was not disclosed.
As captured in a video post shared on Eze Igburugburu’s TikTok page, the heavily pregnant Ondo state indigene said the boyfriend had given her undisclosed amount of money to rent an apartment and start up a business after impregnating her.
A misunderstanding ensued between the couple as Agbede alleged to have caught him cheating on her with another woman.
The man would then proceed to report her at the police station where he accused the pregnant woman of defrauding him of N13 million.
“He was claiming that he gave me the money to buy property for him
“He only gave me money to rent an apartment and to start up business.” She said.
Reacting, Eze Igburugburu called for Lagos state government’s intervention while also vowing to see to the end of the case as he claimed the woman was innocent.
