The presidency Thursday evening dismissed reports that the Presidency has offered N105,000 as minimum wage to Nigerian workers.
The presidency, through Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, said the reports making the rounds are untrue.
NPO Reported today that Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, had submitted a full report on the minimum wage implications to the President, Bola Tinubu.
The leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress had called out workers at the beginning of the week vowing to cripple the country.
Onanuga, while dismissing the report via his X handle, said, “The Honorable Minister of Finance and coordinating minister of the economy, Wale Edun has not proposed N105,000 minimum wage. The contrary story being disseminated is false.”
