The Labour party 2023 Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has criticized the Federal government over the cost of the Presidential jet being more than the primary healthcare budget.
Obi made the assertion in an exclusive interview with News Central on Wednesday.
“The capital budget of our primary healthcare for the whole nation is 59 billion, the cost of our presidential jet at 100million is about 160 billion, that is three times more than our primary healthcare.” he said.
According to him, the Nigerian government needs to prioritize resources in critical areas which include health and education.
He stated that what the nation needs at this time is competent leaders, coupled with determination.
“Today what we need is competent leaders that have compassion and are dedicated to prioritising the resources of the government to key development areas which are health, education,” Obi said.
“Government should stick to the constitution and do the right thing because they swore an oath to respect and keep the constitution,” Obi said.
In the same vein, he noted that the problem of Nigeria is politicians, without excluding himself.
“I said that we the politicians are the problem, and I didn’t exclude myself.
“In Nigeria, 95% of politicians are the same.” He said.
