A Student Union Government President, Alims Blessing, has raised eyebrows as she appoints 50 aides.
As seen in a now viral post on X, the newly elected SUG President of the University of Calabar made the mammoth appointment following her emergence as the first as the first female President of the Union.
Alims’ cabinet boasts of three Personal Assistants, fifteen Special Advisers, six media aides, and ten Faculties Liason Officers amongst others.
However, this has generated reactions from netizens with some disregarding such huge list of appointments while some saw nothing wrong with it.
“Yet people are complaining of Tinubu. This is how it starts. This one never go anywhere see wetin she don dey do.This should be book asked for future purposes.” An X handler, Quincy Savalake commented.
Another handler, Bolaji Lawal, claimed she learnt it from Nigerian politicians.
“This is what’s been thought when you look at how majority of our politicians moves. This is very alarming! Next generation sef don sharpen spoon for ground.” He wrote.

“She learnt it from our Govt o… Let her showcase the wonderful act! Only in Nigeria will an SSA have SA who then have a PA” @rhaymoni
“Well, if the services of these aides are offered pro bono, there’s nothing wrong in delegating duties to SAs and having faculty liaison officers at SUG level, for a conventional university. She’s SUG president doesn’t mean she should carry Union on her head to the detriment of her studies.” @BJAdeparusi.
“What is all these… if this one becomes Nigerias president her aide would be up to 1000” @Olayinka094.
“This is pure unacceptable… Woman should never be SUG president .. Enough is Enough” @iszzyiniho1.
