The Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Sanitation Tokunbo Wahab, has distanced himself from a list of nominees for the Man of the Year Award.
Wahab, though appreciated the nomination, said he would like to withdraw from the award.
The Commissioner said his attention has been drawn to a publication by the Center For Policy Development And Political Studies in lieu of the Lagos State Man of the Year Award.
“I am deeply appreciative of the nomination, it is such elite category to be in, considering the reputation of the other gentlemen I have been nominated alongside.
“However, after careful consideration, I have decided to withdraw my nomination. Members of the public should not vote me in this award.
“Again, I appreciate the gesture and the belief in the work that we do at the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources but I am stepping away from this nomination.
“Thank you!”
Wahab has emerged as one of most prominent members of the present administration of Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
He is known more for the renewed efforts to rid Lagos of illegal structures, poor sanitation and other activities aimed at realizing the dream of Lagos megacity.
