Nigerian Comedian and Special Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor on Entertainment and Tourism, Oluwaseyi Aletile, popularly known as Seyi Law, has mocked Nigeria’s former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, over his allegation against National Assembly salary.
In his reaction to Obasanjo’s remark on alleged self-determined salary of Legislative members, Seyi Law threw shades at Obasanjo with a satirical comment on his X handle on Sunday.
The comedian highlighted the spate of corruption during Obasanjo’s tenure, such as his advocacy for third term in office and how he had allegedly bribed Senate members to push his third term agenda.
He also recalled how Obasanjo’s $16 billion power project was used to siphone funds into private pockets and other alleged corrupt activities of his administration. Seyi Law said the alleged corrupt practices under the Obasanjo administration had inspired early 2000s hit songs like ‘Nigeria Jagajaga’ by Eedris, ‘Mr. President’ by African China, and ‘For Instance’ by 2Face Idibia.
Seyi Law further took a jibe at the deplorable state of Obasanjo’s hometown which he allegedly failed to construct during his tenure as well as Federal road networks like Lagos-Ibadan highway and Benin-Shagamu expressway.
His post read, “If only Baba was Nigeria president, he wouldn’t have nursed a 3rd term agenda. No senator would have been bribed with N50m as alleged. $16bn wouldn’t have gone into private pockets instead of fixing our electricity.
“Eedris wouldn’t have sung Jaga jaga. African China wouldn’t have recorded Mr. President. Maybe 2Face wouldn’t have seen a studio to record For Instance.
“Maybe if Baba was president, the road to his village would have fixed. Just maybe, LG would have enjoyed autonomy.
“Maybe we wouldn’t have waited for Buhari to fix Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Maybe Anenih would have fixed Benin- Shagamu expressway.
“Maybe Baba would have been a saint of the Nigeria order. We will never because Baba was never a president, I presume.”
