The Senate on Tuesday pardoned one of its own, Abdul Ningi after three months of suspension from the red chamber.
Deputy Minority Leader Sen. Abba Moro, who expressed regret on behalf of the suspended senator.
Deputy senate Leader, Senator Abba Moro who pledged to assume full responsibility for Ningi’s actions, said he knew the meaning of the lifting of the suspension. NPO Reports that Ningi was suspended on March 12, 2024 over allegations that he portrayed the senate in bad light. The senator’s conduct during the period of suspension has been a matter of scrutiny and debate within the legislative body.
The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, emphasised the senator’s resourcefulness and described him as a valued member of the Senate, adding that the decision to recall Sen. Ningi transcends religious and ethnic divides.
