The Social Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has called on the Federal Government to immediately unban the latest song by veteran musician, Edrees Abdulkraeem “Tell Your Papa.”
NPO Reports that the National Broadcasting Commission had on Thursday announced the banning of the song which dealt with issues of unkept promises by President Bola Tinubu.
The singer had, in his lyrics, directed his message to the son of the President, Mr. Seyi Tinubu.
The younger Tinubu has been all over Nigeria making appearances suggestive of political moves and also making statements considered to be political.
Mr. Tinubu had said once that his father is the best president so far the country had come across.
His statement had caused stir with some condemning him while other agreed with him.
“The Tinubu administration must immediately reverse the unlawful ban by the National Broadcasting Commission stopping Nigerian radio and TV stations from airing Eedris Abdulkareem’s new single. We’ll see in court if the ban is not reversed within 48 hours,” SERAP said it in its threat to go to court should the ban remain un-lifted.
