Kano State experienced an unusual influx of dignitaries on Saturday as Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo, and his Vice, Atiku Abubakar amongst other political heavyweights arrive the state’s capital city for the wedding ceremony of Rabiu Kwankwanso’s daughter.
The former Kano governor is set to give his daughter’s, Fatiha, hand in marriage to the son of Alhaji Dahiru Manga.
While Shettima’s spokesperson, Stanley Nkwocha, announced the Vice President’s arrival to Kano in a post on X, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar also announced his arrival on his X handle to grace the event.
As seen in a video on X, Atiku was met with jeers from Kano residents as they stormed out in numbers to catch a glimpse of the 2023 PDP’s Presidential candidate.
On his part, Obasanjo’s arrival was disclosed by Labour Party’s Lagos governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, who accompanied the ex-President.
