All hell was let loose on. Thursday in Suleja, Niger state after six protesters were shot dead during the hunger protests that rocked Nigeria on ots first day.
Organisers have organised a 10 day protest to register Nigerians’ anger over the worsening economic situation in the country.
Those killed were said to have met their deaths when some youths barricaded the Kaduna-Abuja Highway forcing many travellers to be stranded.
While trying to dislodge the protesters, policemen had fired shots to disperse the crowd.
One man was said to have been hit on his Okada (commercial motorcycle) while trying to escape from the mayhem.
It was also learnt that the protesters had moved to also set ablaze a local government building.They were dispersed before the could set it on fire.
