A member of the House of Representatives Mohammed Bello-el-Rufai has disclosed that he and a few others in the Lower Chamber of the National Assembly refused to take the Sports Utility Vehicles (SUV) purchased for them.
El-Rufai, in his much-publicized podcast on Mic-On, which was aired Saturday evening, said he and a few others needed to restore the confidence of Nigerians in the ability of young politicians to show decency in public service.
The lawmaker, who is the son of the former Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir el-Rufai, regretted that young people are not conducting themselves in manners that show responsibility adding the strategies many of the young generation employ will not fetch them political power.
He also submitted that the Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi is not in the league of President Bola Tinubu.
El-Rufai expressed his view that President Bola Tinubu surpasses Peter Obi in terms of achievements and governance.
He stated that the two had been governors of Anambra and Lagos, saying what Obi achieved in Anambra can not be compared with the great achievements of Tinubu in Lagos as Governor.

Tinubu Is Better Than Obi – El-Rufai
According to him, Tinubu is far better than Obi, and the former Anambra State Governor can’t even be compared to the likes of former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola or his father, Mallam El-Rufai.
El-Rufai suggested that if opposition parties aimed to defeat Tinubu in the last general elections, a collaboration between Atiku Abubakar, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Peter Obi would have been more effective.
He emphasised that most of the bandits are not Muslims as claimed in some quarters, “I want to put it on record, these bandits are not Muslims, they love their cows, they don’t pray, they are illiterates, they don’t even know the Quran.
El-Rufai acknowledged that the North has problems because of their overpopulation and high illiterate level.
He said, “I think Nigeria has not worked for a long time, I am proud of APC, I am proud of the Buhari administration’s stride in Infrastructure, but we over-promised and under-delivered”.
On those with the habit of dragging people online or offline, El-Rufai said he is not afraid to be called out and is ready to reply accordingly.
