The Nigerian Football Federation has announced that the Future Eagles team will be missing the UEFA U16 development tournament due to the decline of their visas by the Spanish embassy.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Nigeria Football Federation on Monday.
“Players and officials of the Nigeria U16 team, Future Eagles, have been denied visas by the Spanish Embassy and will therefore not be travelling to take part in the UEFA U16 Development Tournament starting on Friday.”
Originally slated to depart on Tuesday for Spain, the Future Eagles were primed to compete against formidable opponents including Belgium on Friday, April 12 (8pm), Italy on Sunday, April 14 (8pm), and England on Wednesday, April 17 (1pm).
The delegation representing the Future Eagles is led by Zannah Malah, a prominent member of the NFF Technical and Development Committee, and it consisted of 20 players.
