The Super Eagles of Nigeria has been drawn alongside host for the African Cup Of Nations Cote D Ivoire alongside with Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau in Group A at the AFCON draw which held at Abidjan.
Super Eagles will kick off there bid to winning their fourth AFCON tittle against Equatorial Guinea, a side which they are familiar with as they did battle against them to book a spot at the AFCON finals .
The Black Stars of Ghana where drawn in Group B alongside Africa’s power house and the most decorated nation when it comes to this showpiece Egypt and the group also has Cape Verde and Mozambique .
Group C which is presumably the toughest group of the drawn see Defending champions Lions of Teranga Senegal drawn alongside the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon as well as Guinea and The Gambia.
The Desert Foxes of Algeria were drawn in Group D in what seems to be a ease group on paper along side Burkina Faso, Mauritania and Angola.
Tunisia, Mali South Africa and Nambia were drawn in the Group E at the AFCON draws .
The Atlas Lions of Morocco were also drawn in what seems to be an easy group on paper alongside Dr Congo, Zambia and Tanzania .
The tournament should have taken place already as it was originally scheduled for June and July this year, but had it gone ahead, matches would have been staged during the rainy season.
Cote D Ivoire will stage the Cup of Nations at six stadiums two in Abidjan and one each in Bouake, administrative capital Yamoussoukro, Korhogo and San Pedro.
The Tournament is scheduled to take place from the 13th of January 2024 to the 11th of February 2024.
