No fewer than 30 captives out of the over 500 worshippers kidnapped in Niger State have been executed by the suspected terrorists’ group who abducted them.
NPO Reported that the terrorists had on the 31st of August kidnapped the worshippers during the Jumma’at prayer at a mosque in Dekara, Borgu Local Government Area of the state.
While many of the captives are still held hostage with no reports from the military or the state government as regards their rescue, the insurgents would on Tuesday dump the bodies of the executed captives at the outskirt of the community.
Disturbing video of the scene shared on X on Wednesday showed residents approaching the slain captives to identify their relatives among the deceased.
This had seen sparked mixed reactions from members of the public with many calling out the government and northern leaders over their perceived silence on the spate of insurgency in the region.
