Some unknown persons believed to be roughnecks stormed some streets of Lagos Island on Tuesday threatening those who want to come out for protests against hunger.
The people numbering about 20 had a public address system placed on a mini-bus with which they addressed market men and women in the Balogun, Idumota and other market areas of Lagos Island.
One of them held onto a microphone with which he delivered messages of threat to those who cared to listen.
“Are you the only one hungry? Are you the only one in Nigeria? If you dare protest, get ready for what will happen” …. My own has always been,Protest will be peaceful if done in your STATE OF ORIGIN.”
Most people especially traders just watched on as the people moved from one street to another threatening would-be protesters.

The threat came amidst growing tension across the country over hunger protests.
Organisers have said that the government must listen to them over the precarious state of the economy.
The government has also said that it has fears that the protests might be hijacked by hoodlums.
