One of the prominent anchor persons of the campaign against police brutality in Nigeria, Rinu Oduala, has frowned at the floods of branded campaign buses in the nation’s capital, Abuja while lamenting that critical sectors of the economy suffer neglect.
Oduola, who became controversial over his revelations and allegations over the alleged killings at the Lekki Tollgate after the October 20 2020 mayhem in Lagos, was reacting to a video posted by an X user who showed the hundreds of branded campaign vehicles which carry images of President Bola Tinubu.
NPO Reports that the ruling party, All Progressive Congress held its national convention from Friday till the wee hours of Saturday.
Part of the highlights were the display of campaign materials including branded vehicles some of which went in long convoys attracting attentions in the nation’s capital.
A Tiktoker, @Ucheagain, had posted videos of the buses moving in convoys in the roads of Abuja for which he said Tinubu and his team was too prepared for the election.
But reacting to the post, Oduola, who is currently out of Nigeria, frowned at such displays in the face of poor facilities in the health and other sectors in Nigeria.
“Tinubu floods Abuja with campaign buses but cannot flood Nigeria hospitals with ambulances, defibrillators or MRI machines,” Oduala simply retorted in her response to @UcheAgain’s post.
Nigeria’s health sector is alleged to be burdened by poor facilities such as functional ambulances, MRI machines, and other tests facilities.
Minister of Health, Dr. Tunji Alausa, has promised over times that the current administration is doing its best to up its game in the health sector.
Tinubu himself had, during his campaigns acknowledged that the country’s health sector is plagued by insufficient infrastructure.
