President Bola Tinubu has joined other wellwishers in celebrating the United Bank of Africa’s (UBA) Chairman, Tony Onyemaechi Elumelu, over his 63rd birthday.
The economist, banker, and philanthropist, who was born on the 22nd of March, 1963, clocked 63 on Sunday.
In a congratulatory message issued by the State House on Saturday, Tinubu describef Elumelu as an African business icon and a leading advocate of Nigerian and African enterprise.
The President commended the Heirs Holdings and Transcorp chairman for his resilience, the excellence that governs his entire enterprise, and his steadfast belief in Africapitalism.
As a strong supporter of youth investment, Tinubu particularly lauded the Tony Elumelu Foundation’s entrepreneurship programme.
According to the statement, the foundation has so far trained 2.5 million young Africans across 54 countries and empowered over 24,000 budding African entrepreneurs with non-refundable seed capital of $5,000 each.
As Elumelu marks this special occasion, the President joined his family and all friends in wishing him good health, strength, and continued success in all his pursuits.
