President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has honored Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi with the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) award.
This took place at the State House in Abuja on Sunday after he was welcomed by the President.
NPO reports that Modi landed in Abuja yesterday and was warmly received by FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, Federal Minister of State Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu alongside the Indian community in Nigeria.
This will make him the second foreign dignitary to receive this honour, following Queen Elizabeth in 1969.
This will be the 17th international award conferred upon PM Modi by a foreign country.
He is on a five-day visit to Nigeria, Brazil and Guyana. From Nigeria, he will travel to Brazil.
