President Bola Tinubu has on Monday met with the newly appointed service chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
NPO Reported that the President had last week Friday made huge changes in the military personnel, reshuffling the Nigerian Armed Forces Service Chiefs.
The changes saw the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Olufemi Oluyede, redeployed as the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) which marked an end to the tenure of CDS Christopher Musa.
With the redeployment of Oluyede, Tinubu announced the appointment of Maj. Gen. Waidi Shaibu as the new Chief of Army Staff.
In the same vein, the President announced the appointment of Air Vice Marshall Sunday Kelvin Aneke as the new Chief of Air Staff while Rear Admiral Iddi Abass emerged as the new Chief of Naval Staff.
However, Maj. Gen. Emmanuel Parker Undiendeye was retained as the Chief of Defence Intelligence.
Sequel to their appointments, the new military heads reportedly arrived at the forecourt of the Villa today in a black Mercedes van piloted by a green Toyota Land Cruiser around 4pm.
On arrival, the President held a closed-door session with them.
Although details of the meeting were not disclosed, it is believed to be connected with plans to further reinforce the nation’s security framework
