The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has reportedly been killed in today’s massive United States and Israeli strikes on the Middle East country.
This is coming shortly after Iran claimed its leaders were “safe and sound.”
Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, would however announce the death of the Iranian leader, stressing that there are “growing signs” that Khamenei, is “gone”.
According to the BBC, before and after satellite images reveal damage to Khamenei’s compound in Tehran.
When asked about the development, the United States President, Donald Trump, reportedly tells NBC News: “I have spoken to a lot of people, we feel that is a correct story”.
The news Khamenei’s death appeared to have birthed a new dawn on Iranians as cheers and celebrations were heard in parts of Tehran Saturday night following reports of Khamenei’s murder.
In one video obtained by CNN from an eyewitness in Tehran, the voices of two women can be heard chanting “Death to the Islamic Republic” and “Long Live the Shah” in Farsi, before cheers and whistles erupt.
In a similar video, cheers are heard echoing across a residential neighborhood in the city.
