President Bola Tinubu is set to present the 2026 budget before the National Assembly as the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approves the proposed appropriation.
This was disclosed in a pos shared on X on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare.
According to Dare, FEC’s approval of the budget signaled its readiness to be presented before the joint National Assembly by the President today.
“The 2026 Budget has been approved by the Federal Executive Council. It is now ready for presentation to the joint session of the National Assembly this afternoon by the President, Commander In Chief, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.” The post read.
This was contained in a memo issued on Thursday by the Clerk to the National Assembly (CNA), Mr Kamorudeen Ogunlana and signed on his behalf by the Secretary, Human Resources and Staff Development, Essien Eyo Essien.
According to Ogunlana, the budget presentation is restricted to accredited persons as non-accredited persons are urged to stay away from the National Assembly premises.
“I am directed to inform you that the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Bola Tinubu is presenting the 2026 proposed Budget a Joint Session of the National Assembly.
“Consequently, all accredited persons must endeavour to be at their duty posts by 11:00 am, otherwise they would not be allowed access into the Complex for security reasons.
“Non accredited persons should stay away from the National Assembly on that day, except for the CNA, Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly (DCNA).
“Others are, Clerk of the Senate and Clerk of the House of Representatives and their deputies.
“Every other member of staff is required to park his/her vehicle at available spaces at the Annex or the new car park by the national assembly gate”. The letter had read.
