Daughter of the Nigerian President, Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, has declared that Lagos is a no-protest zone amidst rising tension over anti-government rallies slated to commence on August 1.
A video now going viral showed the daughter of the president telling some traders that it is unfair to criticise a government that has not spent 3 years in office.
She warned parents against allowing their children to take part in protests over hunger.
NPO Reports that plans are underway by some Nigerian individuals and organisations to lead protests on Nigerian streets over the poor state of the economy.
“Ki lo n je protests? Afogbon baluje ni (There is nothing like protests. Its a way to cause massive destruction.) Tinubu-Ojo said in Yorùbá.
“Just look back at the protests that happened in the past. Look at how the protesters went to burn down infrastructure the government built. You can see that this is all infighting and we are the ones taking ourselves backwards.

“Don’t allow your children bear the consequences of these demonstrations that some political parties are funding. Please, let’s talk to ourselves and our children. There is nothing like protest in Lagos State because the government of Lagos is making us proud.
“Those at the federal government just got there. Before you can say that one government has done badly, let them spend three years.”
Tinubu-Ojo is the Iyaloja-General of Lagos.
The Federal Government has pleaded against protest saying it is capable of being hijacked by hoodlums.
