A Deputy Commissioner of Police Gbolahan Oyedemi who came to home town of Ogbomoso, Oyo state has reportedly hanged himself.
The body of Oyedemi, who was former Aide De Camp to former Governor Adebayo Alao Akala, was found hanging in his mansion in Ogbomoso. He was said to have travelled from Lagos to Ogbomoso to celebrate Easter.
Olugbemi, was at the Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Department (FCIID), Alagbon as at the time of his death.
He was the officer who was recommended for commendation for his handling of the ENDSARS protests in 2020.
Information gathered on Olugbemi shows that he had served in various capacities including as DPO in Ilupeju Area Commander in Ajah, and was Personal Assistant to two former Commissioners of Police in Lagos State.
Circumstances leading to his hanging were not clear at press time. The police either in Oyo Command or Lagos are yet to make any official statement.
