An air of uncertainties pervaded Sunday over the fate of the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Senator `Abdullahi Adamu.
While there were reports that Adamu had been forced to resign from his position, other competent sources also said it was mere rumour.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Mouka, could not be reached for comments and confirmation.
A source in the party who spoke with the NPO Reports on condition of anonimity said Mouka himself was being careful over “any statement at this time that might put him into trouble.”
A Competent source told the NPO Reports President Bola Tinubu had asked one of his aides to inform Adamu of the need for him to throw in the towels as “he is poised to reposition the party in line with his vision.”
Adamu and the National Secretary of the party, Iyiola Omisore, had earlier been accused of failure to fund the campaigns of Tinubu while also being accused of mismanagement of campaign funds in some states.
Omisore, who sources said is also at the verge of losing his position to Tinubu’s new zeal to reposition the party, was also accused of not accounting for the campaign funds released to him for the Osun governorship election.
The Osun election was lost by the APC’s Gboyega Oyetola.
A member of the National Executive Council, who also preferred not to be named, told the NPO Reports Sunday night it was all rumour.
He said that Adamu would be allowed to convey the NEW and NWC meetings of the party earlier rescheduled to hold on 18th and 19th of this month.
“What I cannot say is the fate of the National Chairman and the Secretary after that,” the source said.
