Members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) chapter have on Monday take to the street of Calabar in protest over poor medical facilities in the state following the death of three student union executives.
The deceased students were alongside several others involved in a ghastly accident in Calabar last Friday and were rushed to the Calabar General Hospital where they were rejected.
Video shared on X showed some of the injured students lying in the trunk of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) outside the hospital.
Some of the students who accompanied their injured colleagues to the hospital disclosed that nothing was administered to the visibly injured victims.
In the wake of the death of three victims of the accident, the students stormed the streets of Calabar with banners, obstructing traffic flow as they marched along the road.
The demonstration by the students cladded in black clothes forced some motorists to turn back on account of the standstill.
