Former Governor of Ekiti, Ayo Fayose, has responded to legal luminary, Afe Babalola who condemned his administration for poor performance.
Fayose said he doesn’t want to believe that Babalola made the comments preferring to assume that he was misquoted.
Babalola who had rated only incumbent Biodun Oyebanji as the Governor working well for the state since 1999, spoke at the opening of a hospital in his private university, Afe Babalola University Ado Ekiti.
On Wednesday, former Governor, Kayode Fayemi, had responded to Babalola saying enough is enough. Fayemi said the time has come fr him to put an end to what he called incessant attacks on him and sustained attempts by the legal icon to put his years in office into disrepute.
Fayose said, “He (Afe Babalọla) is our leader, we owe everything to him, we cannot join issues with him, we will continue to respect him. In this case, he must have been misquoted
“I want to believe he must have been misquoted, Governor Adebayo did his best. Governor Fayemi did his best. I did my best.”
Reminding the ABUAD founder of the encomiums he showered on him while in office, Fayose said what Baba said about me in 2018 does not correlate with what you are saying he said about me yesterday.”
He said it should be noted that in 2018 newspapers reported Chief Afe Babalola as describing him as “a magician, miracle maker, architect, planner, visioner and executioner, who has changed the face of judiciary in Ekiti.”
He said Babalola made the comment at the commissioning of the new ultra modern Ekiti State High Court complex.
