Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressive Congress have appealed to the President Muhammadu Buhari to direct the Central Bank of Nigeria allow both old and new Naira notes exist for some more time.

Governor of Kaduna State Nasir el-Rufai stated this when he addressed journalists shortly after the meeting of the Governors with the President.
There have been uproar over the cashless policy and the complications arising from the redesign of the Naira by the apex bank.
NPO Reported that Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed had kicked against the redesign.
But the CBN said it did not require the approval of the Minister to proceed with the new Naira policy.
The Kaduna state Governor who was accompanied by Umar Ganduje the Kano state governor, said they made it clear to the President that the suffering of the masses was beyond limit.
El-Rufai said the president was told in clear terms that the country was under pressure.
